Initiates learn. Christ taught. Even at the tender age of 13 He was refining the "wise" mens knowledge in the Temple. He did travel around the World. Not to be taught, but bring clarification to the faiths of others, that had gone astray through man's interpretations.

I've never heard him called the great initiate, but he was the first to receive a certain type of knowledge and dutifully passed it on to the rest of humanity. Well at least he tried.

Because he was supposed to be the ultimate example of the initiate.
There is no evidence that he travelled around the known world at the time.
The idea was that God had bestowed certain wisdom and knowledge upon him so that he could teach others. Then those that wanted to follow could also become initiates to this faith and awareness of God.

I didn't know he traveled around the world, how did you find that out, as there is no mention of it in the bible.
