Does anyone subscribe to Newtype USA magazine (anime)?

Question

If so, is a good magazine for a 16 yr old girl like me? Does it leans towards guy more than girls?

Is it true that it has hentai or r rated contents?

What is inside in the magazine? Is it great? do they come with posters or dvds?

Is the magazine really worth 80 something dollars for 12 months?

You don't need to, but If you can help me, can you get me a scan/website of the magazine?

I have been a subscriber for years. It's expensive mostly because each month's issue comes with a demo DVD that usually has 3 episodes of various new anime (plus maybe a dozen "trailers" for upcoming releases).

$90 per year is pretty steep, and they don't seem to offer discounts no matter what you do. Most magazines will come and offer a good deal if you let your subscription lapse, but NewType is still $90 per year. It's a little cheaper (about $150 = $75 per year) if you pay for two years at a time.

It has no hentai content. In addition to the DVD, it also has a poster, and usually a sample of some manga pages (about one chapter).

But it is mostly information on what manga and anime is being released soon in the USA, and what is currently popular in Japan. In a way, it should be really cheap, because it is mostly marketing of upcoming things to the readers. It seems kind of unfair, at times, for me to be paying almost a hundred dollars a year... to read sales pitches.

80 dollars for a year sounds about right. It's a very high-quality magazine with a lot of color imagery and it's fairly thick.

I personally only buy one every once in awhile when there's something that interests me inside. Like you mentioned, the subscription can be a bit pricy because it's a translated import magazine.

Newtype is one of my favorite magazines. There's no hentai at all. I think it's worth it--there's lots of contests you can enter and stuff.

i have gotten the magazine before and nothing was rated R or above. it is a cool magazine, tells you a lot of new animes that are coming out as well as mangas. :P but it does have a lot of spoilers.
