These statistics seem high to me, so I'm trying to get an idea of what the motivators are behind the decision to move so often.

-Retirees downsizing
-First time home buyers
-Investors buying rentals, then selling
-End users buying vacation properties
-Job promotion or relocation
-Loss of job - moving to better economy
-Parents of college students buying instead of renting - then selling at graduation
-Finally being able to move where you really want to live
-Neighbor problem
-Home Owners Association rules to strict
-Inherited $$$, buying something nicer
-Gypsy lifestyle (love change)

The list is endless because the reasons are endless.

People do not stay at one job for a lifetime like they used to for one thing. Another this is that in many markets in the US it is very easy to make money by living in your house a few years and then selling it.

Here in the US, there's job transfers and folks always seem to want to buy a bigger place.

I'm surprised the averag is that long.

there could be many things that could make a person move:
- better job somewhere else
- sick family member
- lost job
- got transfered (job)
