because of a storm what do you do in your family to pass the time?

This past winter we had a really bad ice storm that caused the transformer for our cluster of houses to blow. We had already stocked up on fire wood so we lit a fire and played games by fire light. Thankfully around 4am they finally got it fixed - it had been out since about 4pm the day before.

In the middle of the night - I just keep sleeping. If we were all awake we'd light candles and play board games. Or we'd sit outside if the weather was hot and the air wasn't working because of the outage.
Now that I'm married? Well...that's a bit private...

If it's night time. Go to bed early. Day time read. Or play card games. I keep candles just in case. One can also go for a drive. Hang out at the stores.

Sleep, or light a lantern and read, or get on the air on generator power and pass traffic on ham radio...

we sit outside under the porch if it's still light outside. Or take a nap. Sometimes, we'll bbq, since our stove won't work with out electricty. If it's late and we haven't eaten, then we go out to eat.

well it depends what time it is... if it is night time we just sit around playing a game but if it is in the morning then we just leave the house and go to the mall or something like that... or we just go over to my friends house

I tell shocking and horrifying ghost and monster stories to the kids,making everything up as i go along. After they go to bed my wife and i pretend we're 16. if you know what i mean.

My apartment is all electric, so when the power goes off, that's pretty much it. I go to sleep :-))
