In big cities 5-10 miles above the speed limit is ok, but in small towns better drive within speed limits. Many of these small town's sole revenue is through speeding tickets and even 5 above can land you one.

In a four wheel vehicle you can probably get a way with 5-8 mph over the posted speed limit. It really all depends on the officer you pass. If he had a bad night than he will be looking to take it out on everybody. Be safe in all your travels.
