I will be driving from Texas to California, through New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. If traffic conditions allow, how much faster than the speed limit can I go without having to worry about getting a speeding ticket?

Stay with the flow--do NOT attract the attention of the police. If 75 is the flow--do 75. If 50 is the flow---do 50,...be smart !!!

In big cities 5-10 miles above the speed limit is ok, but in small towns better drive within speed limits. Many of these small town's sole revenue is through speeding tickets and even 5 above can land you one.

In a four wheel vehicle you can probably get a way with 5-8 mph over the posted speed limit. It really all depends on the officer you pass. If he had a bad night than he will be looking to take it out on everybody. Be safe in all your travels.

you can usually get away with 5-8 miles over, i drive a rig and thats as far over as i go and i haven't had no problems
