My angel seems to spend alot of time swimming upside down and on his side. Is this normal or is he mentally unstable? His Mrs died a few weeks ago, could he be depressed?...

Do you know why his Mrs. died? It is likely beginning to affect him. Check your temperature, ammonia and pH. Make sure they are where they should be, and if they aren't fix it.

I think he has a swimming bladder problem, there can be lots of causes for it. Once a had my 2 bettas mating and afterwards, the female got the same problem. I left it in her small bowl for a few days, but she didn't seemed to get better, then, i put her into my big tank and she got better just like that!

i have 4 angels and that is not correct for angels to be doing that it could be swim bladder,
check your levels in your tank first and if they are ok it sounds like swim bladder.
fish don't get depressed from what hes doing its a lack of hygiene possibly in the tank do a water change and see what happens

Id get your water tested. It is not normal for angels to swim like that and sounds like it has swim bladder and will die.

peeled cooked pees work good for swim bladder, there is no real guaranteed cure.

Your betta could be mistaking your angelfish as a threat towards himself. If he is witnessing an aggressive act around him, he's gonna start to feel uncomfortable, and want to drive your angelfish away. It's probably a good idea to move your angelfish before your betta gets at its fins
