The stock market seems to be very jittery lately. Any ideas why?
I know that this probably belongs in the investment section, but I thought I would ask here in politics too.

Politics doesn't really have anything to do with it at the moment.

There's uncertainty in credit markets that is making participants in the stock markets skittish. The thing is, when loaning money becomes less attractive, stocks become more attractive - but, debt-funded private equity firms have been driving stock prices up.

Anybody's guess where it could go, so you have a lot of volatility.

I bet the liberals are joyous over this now. Before, when the stock market was at an all time high (which it still is) the libs didn't care, "it's not an idication of how good our economy is" was always their answer.

I don't know. I wonder if you researched similar patterns in past stock market activity if you would find any answers. Factor in the insane gold prices while you are at it. Hmmmmmm, I'm drawing a blank...... anyone know stock market history?
