I am close with my mother (dad too) even though we live in different sates. We talk every weekend and she loves this, so it is a simple way to do something nice-for both of us! The last card I sent her expressed my love, gratitude and that she is basically my best friend and best mom I could ask for. It is important to share these things and let people know how you feel- they could be gone in the blink of an eye and then you are left to think about all the things you never got to say.
Yesterday i found out that I passed a State Licensing exam- she was incredibly proud of me and I expressed my gratitude for her (and my dad's) undying support. She said that was a wonderful gift, to see her only child succeed!

I took my mom to the movies a couple of weeks ago to see Evan Almighty because no one else would go see it with her. The movie was pretty silly, but we had a good time together.

Another nice thing I do for her though that she really loves is I give her pedicures all the time!

I always do nice things for my mother, anything from buying her something she likes to taking her to see a movie or dinner to taking her for a pedicure. I love her & she's been my rock all my life so I let her know how much I love her every chance I have.

I picked out the most beautiful urn, pure white with an angel & dove on top, for her remains and created a memorial in a special cabinet for her when my dad could no longer keep the urn in his home.

My mother died from cancer. She was seriously ill for 5 years. I cared for her last year and took in house care for her so she could die at home.

She was the best!

My Moms birthday just passed, she celebrates her birthday all month long, so I sent her a funny birthday card every day for two weeks.
So every day when she checked her mail, she had a funny Happy Birthday card to read.
She loved it!
Every few days she'd call me cracking up laughing about her funny cards.
:~)
