...and that completely understood the laws of physics (even the ones we don't understand yet), could it predict all future events for everything?

How does this thought expiriment comment on the nature of free will?

PS, I am assuming a non-dualistic world view (no souls, angels, demons, Gods, magic etc.) so please answer accordingly.

Only a genius, or a team of them, could design such an object. I really can't see the connection with future events. It's plain that you want a scientific explanation, but I am not qualified to do that. With your comment about free will, I'm assuming that you are leaning toward a religious reference, and everyone is aware that science and religion do not always agree. There will never be a non-dualistic world view. We are all individuals with varied thought processes. But perhaps there's a planet in some remote solar system whose denizens are puppets controlled by a master generator.
