Have a national day off once a month to take a breather from all that is going on. Allow employees to work as a volunteer somewhere for one day a month with pay for the charity of their choice.

First, get rid of ALL the government and all the politicians.
If you want a fresh start, do as the founding fathers did: stop doing what is being done and set up entirely "new" rules. And ENFORCE these rules on EVERYONE. That is the biggest problem now: we have returned to an aristocracy, wherein some people are above the law (think police and politicians and doctors...)

You say bias. I say convictions. Was George Washington biased or did he have convictions? Was Abraham Lincoln biased or did he have convictions? Was Theodore Roosevelt biased or did he have convictions? Was Ronald Reagan biased or did have convictions?
If you honestly believe your beliefs and values are better for the country than some alternative, why shouldn't you stand on them? Why shouldn't you fight for what you believe? If you're too weak to do that, others will do it in your place. The voters will decide who is right. And the real kicker? The voters are always changing their minds.
/EDIT: Scott F, what would you do when those small businesses succeeded and became big businesses? Would you punish them for success?

No political parties? Then I would tax only corporations and promote small buisnesses by not taxing them. American made buisnesses would come back. If corporations didn't want to pay taxes, I would kick them out of the U.S..
We need our independence badly.

"Scott F, what would you do when those small businesses succeeded and became big businesses? Would you punish them for success?"
Yes, but it isn't punishment for success. Being a big buisness has a bigger responsibility and it gives everyone an equal opportunity to aspire to be a big business if he or she wishes. The playing field becomes fair and promotes a vast array of competition.

We need to get rid of political parties. I would prevent the unconstitutional laws governing political parties and require that every candidate in a state gets equal campaign aid and equal time. I would eliminate the law that prevents one from voting in multiple primaries.

I would get a gun and protect myself because the chaos that would reign without political support would be unbearable.
