I just had a baby shower, and everything was lovely, but I now have about 40 bibs. My husband and I want to know how many bibs we will really need, if we will use that many or if maybe we should return some? How many bibs did you find useful with your children?

I received a lot of bibs also and I use them all of the time. My baby spits up and drools and is always soaking his bib. Keep them all.....put a few in your diaper bag!!

It really just depends on you, your child, and what you plan on using the bibs for. Some parents use bibs early on and it helps protect clothing from spit-up. This really isn't necessary just more of a personal preference. Bibs really are used around the time baby starts eating solids and teething. You will go through 10 bibs a day during that time. My daughter drooled a lot and it would soak the bib. I was able to just change bibs instead of changing her whole outfit. I had a friend that didn't even use bibs but she was always trying to scrub stains out of clothes. I would say you should probably have at least 20 bibs on hand, just depends on how often you want to do laundry.

40 bibs...yeah, that sounds about right. Think about it, a minimum of three bibs a day, every day. Plus, extra bibs while baby is teething or if you have a baby with a fussy tummy. Remember too that bibs are small and are easily lost, misplaced, or left somewhere.

Unless you want to be doing multiple loads of laundry every day, be pleased with the number of bibs you have been given. Believe me, I would have been thrilled to have had half as much. Babies go through bibs almost as quickly as they go through diapers, particularly when they are in the spit-up/drooling stage. Trust me, you will be changing them constantly during that time. Then, when they begin to eat solids, those bibs will be covered in food. Feeding a baby is not a neat and clean process - lol. I still use a bib with my daughter, who is almost two, as she prefers to eat with her fingers still, and she always manages to make a humongous mess.

Hope this helps!

You will need a lot of bibs. Not only are they good when you feed the baby, but some babies drool a lot especially when teething and they also need a bib then. Plus some babies spit up more than others. I wouldn't take any back.

Well, I never really used that many. My children only wore them at meals, and by the time they were eating meals we used the vinyl ones with pockets that could be washed after s/he was done eating. We did have some cloth ones, but maybe half a dozen at the most (dozen total, including the vinyl ones).

Some people keep one on baby at all times, which could come in handy if you have a heavy drooler. With 40, you could always have some clean even if you miss a load of laundry, you could keep some at Grandma's or in the car for when eating out, etc.

It is really a personal preference. If you do not think you will use all of them, certainly return some and get something that will be more beneficial.

We have a lot too. I have the nice bibs - for outings, etc. And then we have the everyday bibs for at home use. I say we probably have roughly 30 of them.
I would keep most of them if I were you.

For newborns just a couple for drool and spit up. You will find bibs more handy once your child is eating solids. I would say hang on to 5-10 for your newborn and take the rest back to get something else you need :) Good luck with your baby!

i would say 5 or so a day. i would rather keep changing bibs rather than the whole shirt. besides if stains r involved bibs are cheaper to replace than those cute little outfits

ha ha ! trythfully i got three packages of bibs, i would guess a total of 15- and i wish i had more! i would keep about 20-25 of them! but again you could have a baby who never spits up, MMINE DOES ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just return maybe one package and get some socks!

P.S. I do laundry only on the weekends, if that tells you something!
