l=5+w
p=54
p=2l+2w
54=2(5+w)+2w
54=10+2w+2w
54=10+4w
44=4w

w=11m
l=16m

Let the width be w metres. Then the length is w + 5 metres.
The perimeter is:
2(w + (w + 5)) = 54
2(2w + 5) = 54
4w + 10 = 54
4w = 44
w = 11.
The width is 11metres, and the length w + 5 = 16metres.

I wont do it for you considering the incontrovertible fact that way you wont study. here is an occasion. A rectangle is 3 meters longer than its width. Width is 60m longside + small element + long element + small element = permimeter (x+3) + x + (x+3) + x = 60m so: 4x + 6 = 60 4x = 60 - 6 = fifty 4 x = fifty 4 / 4 = 13.5 X = 13.5 or width X+3 or 13.5 + 3 = sixteen.5 or length.

Let the width=x
so the length=x+5
Also 2[x+(x+5)]=54
or 2(2x+5)=54
or 4x+10=54
or 4x=44
or x=44/4=11
so width =11 m & iength=11+5=16 m ans

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2W + 2L.

You don't know W or L, but you do know that L = W+5.

So plug all of the information in.

54 = 2(W) + 2(W+5)

54 = 2W + 2W + 10
54 = 4W + 10
44 = 4W
W = 11

So L = 16.

let the length be x therefore the width will be x+5
therefore 54=x+x+5
therefore 54-5=2x
therefore 49=2x
therefore x=49 divide 2=7
therefore x=7
therefore the length =7 and the width=7plus5=13

perimeter = 54 = 2L + 2W
L = W+5
54=2(W+5)2W
54=2W+10 +2W
44= 4W
11=Width
16=Length

It seems to me you have homework due and you did not master the subject. I cannot take you final for you; you need to master the material as my helping you will not enable you to pass.

In this problem

L = w + 5

P = 2 w + 2 L = 54

54 = 2 w + 2 (w + 5)

you take it from there

p = l + l + w+ w and we know that l = w+ 5

substitute in w +5 for L and we get:

4w + 10 = p , p = 54

4w = 44
w = 11

l = w + 5
l = 16

Hope this helps!
