Depending on what kind of catfish you purchased, you might not be able to keep anything with it at all. I have heard of large South American catfish eating 13" Midas cichlids in large aquaria. You really need to update this question, or email me with the type of catfish that you have.

What kind of Catfish is it? Get a fish that is bigger than the Catfish, and you won't have a problem.

We need to know what kind of catfish, update this post if you know or try describing it.Generally anything the same size or bigger won't get eaten as it won't fit in the catfishes mouth.

What kind of catfish is it? I had a redtail catfish and it live peacefully together with my arowana until it outgrew my tank. As long as they are about the same size or can't fit in his mouth, since my redtail had a really big mouth.

Anything that can't fit in it's mouth (which depends on the catfish).
