let's say base is x
height = 4x
area of triangle = 1/2*b*h
1/2*x*4x=18
x^2=9
x=3

Area = 1/2 b h. b = 4h + 9. If Area = 50, find b and h. Use the value of b = 4h + 9 for b in the equation A = 1/2 b h and solve for h. A = 1/2 b h. 50 = 1/2 (4h + 9) * h. Multiply both sides by 2 to eliminate the 2 in the denominator on the right side of the equation. 100 = (4h + 9) * h. Multiply the terms on the right side. 100 = 4h^2 + 9h. Subtract 100 from both sides of the equation. 4h^2 + 9h - 100 = 0 Factor into two binomials. (4h + 25)(h - 4) = 0 4h + 25 = 0. 4h = -25. h = - 25/4. Since you can't have a negative height, this cannot work. h - 4 = 0. h = 4. Answer for the height. To find the base, put h= 4 in the equation A = 1/2 b h and solve for b. 50 = 1/2 b (4) 50 = 2b. b = 25. Answer for the base.

Let the base=x
so height=4x
Now area=1/2 base x height
or 18=1/2 x.4x
or 4x^2=36
or x^2=36/4=9
or x=3
or Base=3 & height=12 ans

The given information tells us the following:

A = (1/2)bh = 18
h = 4b

Plug the 2nd equation into the first equation and solve for the base:

(1/2)(b)(4b) = 18
==> collect constant and distribute h's
2b^2 = 18
==> divide by 2
b^2 = 9
==> take square root
b = 3

Plug into our second equation:

h = 4b = 4(3) = 12

So, the base is 3 inches and the height is 12 inches.

thats really easy, the formula for a triangle's area is 1/2 base x height, so since the height is 4 times the base you can do 1/2(b x 4b) = 18. you should be able to do this by yourself!!!

base length = X
height = 4X
triangle formula 1/2 hieght times base = area
X*2X =18
2x^2=18
x^2=9
X = 3, -3 but this is geometry so 3
Base 3 Height 12
check 3*6=18

A = 1/2*b*h

Let b = x, so h = 4x. Also, we're given that A = 18.
So,
18 = 1/2*x*4x = 2x^2.
Thus,
9 = x^2 and so x = 3
Therefore, b = 3 and h = 12.

A = b * h /2 = 18; b*h = 36

h = 4b

b * 4b = 36
b^2 = 36/4 = 9
b = 3
h = 12

4b = h , A = 18
.5bh =18
.5(4b^2) = 18

2b^2 = 18
b^2 = 9
b = 3

h = 4b
h = 12

Hope this helps!
