Right-click My Computer and select Properties. You will see a screen that tells you some of your system specs, like the operating system and the amount of RAM you have.

Go to Start then go to Control Panel. Go to the switching mode and click "Switch to Classic View".
Then in the Control Panel go to the icon called "System" and double click it.
You will find everything you need to know there about your Operating System plus your version of Graphics card.
Hope that helped.

try this:

click on the start button (bottom left) and see if there is a "tour windows xp" option. if so, open it (choose non-animated version) and you will get a page that says welcome to windows xp .....

mine is xp professional. don't know if all xp versions have this, but if yours is professional this will definitely show up.
