Ladies, do you prefer pants over skirts or dresses?

If so why? I ask because it seems like most of them women that live in my city wear pants more than dresses and I don't know why.

I hate skirts and dresses...ugh! My mom tries to make me wear them, but I wear more bermuda shorts and jeans than anything

I love a georgeous, classy dress and heels for social events.

For work, being as how I have to bend to get into the files, ummmm, pants are better....

For chasing small neices and nephews pants and sneaks.

The clothes need to suit the function.

I'm not cleaning the bathroom in that dress. Nor am I going to the wedding in my jeans.

Also, since I live in the North, I'd have to say, if you really want to say warm, and sometimes it's, like, 10 below....you have to wear pants. Exposure time is minimal. If you're going out, you have to use some common sense.

I actually prefer skirts, since it's so hard for me to find a pair of pants that fit properly! You don't have to worry about a skirt having enough room around the thighs. And dresses are okay for special occasions, just not every day.

I much prefer a skirt or dress. Even in winter you can wear stockings and boots.

I have residual numbness in my left foot from scar tissue strangling the sciatic nerve in my leg..

I wear pants. I have to wear shoes that support that foot. Usually, in the winter, major steel toe construction boots with the most mad tread I can find.

I cheat in the summer and wear capris and a pair of little flats. But I always pay the price when I do.

You might consider that pants are just more professional. We work in a man's world. We've had to adapt and project a professional image.

Also, when you have little children they tug and pull at your clothing. It's hard to manage a dress, and the appropriate shoes (cuz you gotta have the shoes, too...) and manage a small child/children. Sneakers are required when you have little ones. They look weird with a dress.

Pants over a skirt or dress would look funny and be very hot. I think the reason most women don't wear dresses anymore is men are pervs and take those up skirt pictures and post them on the net.

It all depends on the circumstance. During winter and really hot days, I prefer to wear pants. It's too cold during winter to wear a skirt or dress. On really hot days, my thighs sweat too much that I start to chafe. I also wear pants on days I go to the chiropracter because it's more practical. Otherwise, I love wearing skirts and dresses. In fact, I'm wearing a dress right now.

I prefer pants over skirts or dresses, I feel more comfortable in pants. Especially at work where a dress or skirt would be unpractical and uncomfortable.

Pants make me feel safer I guess, so i like pants and shorts better than skirts and dresses. Skirts and dresses also make me feel to formal and you cant always do everything you want like run away from someone or jump over a fence in a skrit/dress.
