I feel like everywhere i go people will cross he street to avoid me,. They look at my girlfriend weird (she is whitish). At the bank they make me stand in a separate line. At work they call me names they think are cute or funny like 'Darkster' of 'Smooth Chocolate' My students rarely listen to my advice and complain about my 'behavior' to their rich white parents. Do you look at your self objectively and see a bit of this in yourself?

I don't know how to look at myself objectively. I'm not really sure what that means to be honest. I'm not racist or a racist but my cubicle mate and my parents are. More than anything it makes me laugh because they are three of the stupidest, trashiest people I ever hope to meet. The thought of them believing that anyone is beneath them makes me laugh until I cry.

I'll put it this way: according to the highly sensitive world we live in, I might have some leanings. however, I don't consider myself racist. I'll state the facts for you and let you draw your own conclusion.

I don't agree with the existence of the NAACP, because it would consider any white advancement group racist, regardless of the fact that it's basically the same thing under a different mask.

I also don't agree with anyone who hates a person based on their skin color.

I don't like Ghetto/Rap culture, in whites, blacks, anyone. I think it encourages people to be ignorant, or at least appear that way.

I am not friends with many black people, but there aren't many of them that hold the same views on politics, music, etc. in my area. at least not that I know of.

I don't agree with the term "african american" because it implies that you weren't born here. most african americans haven't ever been to africa. no one calls me an anglo saxon american.

so you tell me.

Once I was sitting between two black girls, and said "Who wants an Oreo."
They both got up and left.
That was racist, I am sure.
I never said any thing like that before, even so I know for a fact that you are black, and I am white.
Your heritage differs from mine.
But it not our heritage that is making a better future, it is us.
And no matter what my father or your father was, or my mother or your mother was, we our a new generation with new ideas, and can change our own perspectives. Whether it be for better or for worse. But I prefer the better.

I am not a racist. I despise everyone equally.

Seriously though, I see more racist people from other races, like Hispanic and African American in my town.

No. I would never say or think those things. Also, I treat all races of people the same. However, I do get uncomfortable when a person from another race stares at me like they are waiting for me to do something racist. I don't get stares like that from people of my own race.

Ever consider that you're making assumptions and have become prejudiced yourself? Not all of us honkeys are racist and enjoy burning crosses.

I try and treat all people equally. But I once heard (on a sitcom) someone say that we are all racist, the question is not whether we are racist, it's what will we do about it that matters.

Nope i'm not racist, but some people are too kind to a different race and that makes them more racist.

No

In fact when I was a little girl someone made a comment about one of my dad's friends being black and I asked my mom why they said that. I never noticed people's looks in terms of skin color....never have and never well.
