I think girls in grade, middle, and high school need to wear a dress or skirt on the first day of school to make a good first impression to their peers and teachers. Pants are just inappropriate for girls on their first day back or for grown women when they have their first day at work or a have a job interview.

I think a better way to make a good first impression would be for these young girls to be intelligent and respectful of their teachers and peers. Women and girls are free to wear what they want, this is the 21st century, and while your clothes do make a statement about your personality, not many would consider a girl in pants to be dressing "inappropriately."

If you go to a school with dress code maybe. If it's public school, who cares. If it's the teachers you're trying to impress just don't dress trashy. Same with a job interview. A nicely dressed girl can wear pants nowadays...unless she's applying for a job as a church organist or something!

Is this really an issue in your life?

Kindergarten thru High School? How Girls dress on the first day of school?

I thought you said you were 29.

Look at what you said.

It is completely inappropriate for an adult male to be so obsessed with little girls. Underage girls.

Your focus should be on a somewhat more adult level.

Have you ever considered counseling?

What possible difference could it make whether a girl chooses jeans/pants/dress or skirt. Fifty years ago, girls were never allowed to wear slacks of any kind, thank GOD they now have the freedom to choose comfort over oppression. Until you have been forced to wear a skirt or dress on a cold windy day, then I suggest you learn to be tolerant.

First impressions are often wrong. You will see many sociologists agree. Besides, what does wearing pants or a skirt have to do with first impressions anyway?

I can understand the job thing, or maybe a new school. But for High school, you already know all the teachers (at least @ mine) I think that is just unrealistic- but I wear blazers, skirts, and high heels a lot more than my classmates!!!!

I think all we women have moved past that point around the 1930s. I bet it's pretty rare to see a high schooler even wear a dress. I think the "dress code" is jeans.

I think that view is very out of touch with modern sensibilities. There's no reason why a man should tell a woman what to wear and when.
