No matter how good things are, they can point out something they imagine as a negative. You win a car, they point out that particular one has some defect or whatever.
You win the lottery, they predict unhappiness because you are rich now.

How funny, you've met my mother. I lost over 170 pounds....the woman still buys me an extra large, "just in case."

Yes. My grandmother does that. I love her, but she really needs to lighten up.

I am going to mediation on a lawsuit with the City of Bristow on the 29th and she predicts that we will come out with nothing because I am asking for too much.

Wow! And I thought I was the only one with a downer for a mother. Whew! Glad to see I'm not alone. She is also forever the martyr and THE original "no one loves me ... every body hates me ... i think I'll eat a can of worms" sad sap.

I used to get bummed out about her constant negativity (and believe me its left its scars) ... but it also made me fiercely determined to NEVER end up like her. She's my mom and I love her ... but thank God I have the power to be anything but like her....

First GOD must be the single that WE, who believe IN AND believe, no longer Barack Obama, and each little thing else falls into place.... GOD facilitates some issues to take place, for different issues to come back to previous, even in spite of if it relatively is finally an AFRICAN AMERICAN being the Pres of the u . s . a ......issues might desire to alter for existence to proceed.... those with loopy, devilish and hateful innovations approximately this guy purely with the aid of colour of his skin, or what they have been taught, purely set themselves up for failure...PRAY, is all we actually can do, it somewhat does artwork! human beings won't be in a position to get replaced with the aid of others, they might desire to desire to alter themselves for the greater effective to even scent the Fruit of existence! i'm soooo happy that Obama is the President and that i won't be in a position to attend to work out what happens interior the advent destiny...i'm believing good issues for HIM and OUR usa, under GOD of course!

A simple congratulations or good luck would have been suffice. So, I try to take things other say with a grain of salt...I'm done with people raining on my parade!

Yes, it's terribly annoying, especially since I consider myself to be an optimist.

my mom can be like that a lot and it makes me frustrated. I learn to ignore her for the most part. Why can't she just be happy for the person?
