My word, when i looked at it I thought nothing of it but it turns out the asker probably got reported by everyone who viewed the question. Its obviously a joke, right?

Many years ago I was offered an abortion just before the 28wk limit at that time. The decision was taken out of my hands my baby girl died inside me.She had no brain. I was in torment at what to do and certainly didn't want to discuss it with strangers. If I had a choice to abort a baby at any stage with a cleft palate the answer would be NO, I cannot judge what anyone does only I'm not sure if this is truth-full or not. I don't know of any country with the equipment to pick up a cleft palate allowing an abortion at such a late stage.

i only read this question, after following your link, and decided not to leave an answer for her. i think it is obvious why it provoked such a reaction! i really can't believe that anyone would actually 1) abort a child at such a late stage 2) abort a child only because it has a very minor problem that can be fixed easily 3) chose to discuss such an issue so publicly with no shame about the reasons..... and I actually do believe every woman has a choice... but at such a late stage and for such a minor reason.... surely this poor baby would be better off adopted as the birth mother seem incapable of loving!

it raised such a stir becuase it shows how SHALLOW people are.
A cleft lip is NOT a severe deformity - it will NOT affect the actual health of the child and the child WILL be able to lead a normal life.
The child is alrady 32 weeks old! It already is a human , and no longer is in the foetus stage!
That lady is a murderer if she really aborts that poor baby.

It looks as if that person was only posting that question to open the gates to the anti-choice brigade. I don't think it was a real life situation.
Also remember that the limits for termination in Britain are 28 weeks. Cleft palates can be easily corrected nowadays, usually well after birth.

Because she is a sick b/i/t/c/h whether she's done it for a joke or not.
A cleft palate is hardly a deformity in the true sense of the word and the legal limit in the uk of an abortion is 24 weeks which is too bloody high anyway God knows what country she is in!! - her life isn't even in danger!!!
You are just as bad for thinking nothing of it!!!

I hope it is a joke........... But I can understand why it raised such a stir, it is a very emotional thing but I cannot believe any civilised country in the world would allow that kind of thing.

It must be a sick joke, I can not imagine any country doing a termination at that late stage. That is a fully formed baby and a cleft lip can be repaired.

That's not a joke. It's the sick reality that some women take the right to choose to far. And I'm pro choice

This is a very taboo subject and I have to agree with magnolia that asking about abortion as if it is buying something or advice on the latest trend is beyond comprehension.
