Don't you get it?, when the DOW is up it's because Bush is so awesome, when it's down it's because of the democrats.

So being conservative, moderate or liberal has that powerful of an influence on one day of the economy? Does the party in party also have that kind of influence? I don't know where you learned your civics or economics but since it's a high school requirement, I'm sure we all have an idea. As such, I remember the only power that moves the economy is the people - locally and globally.
This economy has experienced several subsequent months of job creations and global expansion. The only problems that remain are the following:
1. Collapse of the subprime mortgage market, an indication of out of control capitalism, a liberal initiative.
2. US jobs shipped overseas while immigration went out of control under H1B visas, a democratic initiative that went unchecked because people were caught up in the dot coms and the real estate booms.
It all came down to out of control greed. That has no party influence or political view point.

Down 300 points? Actually it's just over 387 but it's "down" to a wopping 13270.68!!!! You call that down? Ten years ago it was below seven thousand for crying out loud. That means we're up almost ONE HUNDRED PERCENT since then. And my IRAs are up even more than that. I'm more liberal than conservative but at least I can research the stock market with an open mind. Jeez man. I didn't vote for Bush but his tax plan means I'm paying fewer taxes than at anytime since I began working over forty years ago. More people own houses than ever before in history and even with recent upswings, interest rates are near an all time low. Throw in unemployment at 4.6% and I'm sitting here wondering what you are down on the consevatives about. Hell ten years ago we considered 6% to be full employment for crying out loud.

Unemployment is at a pretty low level, which is one benchmark I look at, although the housing markets are terrible which I am worried about. So many foreclosures in our area.... I'm also worried about the outsourcing of a lot of jobs to foreign countries. I like that concept in certain cases, but the way it is now, I think it's out of control. Good question...

simple..out of control liberal extremists that cant leave well enough alone. the dow is infact a direct barometer of the economy...ITS A BUSINESS AVERAGE GENIUS...its down because of the lender market which has legitimate fears of the mess the pelosi/reid regime wants to create. bush already proved the value of the tax cuts from the (clinton) LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN US HISTORY(2003).
you need to get a better understanding of economics rather than marching in lockstep to the pelosi/edwards we have no choice but to raise taxes(exact quote). it has alot in common with overfed cattle and it aint just the smell.

Well, I think conservatives remember the Clinton years, with the economic prosperity and balanced budgets and all.
I wonder how they explain the Bush failings. Oh, but the DOW is up. And Michael Moore is fat.

the market ALWAYS corrects. I'm still okay with the economy. What does concern me are the democrats wanting to place controls on imports which will make China do something that will fvck us up big time. But I am of the belief that the democrat politicians will destroy this country if they believe they can regain power with it. The sad part is their little minions think that is okay.

It is overall doing well. Better than if Gore or Kerry had been elected. Talk about near tragedies. Thank God the Supreme Court prevented Gore from stealing the 2000 election.
