For routers, I recommend Linksys WRT54G's. They are wireless, cheap, reliable and the most popular. You can get them at almost any computer/electronic store like Walmart, Best Buy, etc. There are also a ton of aftermarket firmwares available for free download on the internet that make them more powerful.

As far as video cards, it depends on what your motherboard can take (AGP vs PCI-e slot). AGP is a near-dead technology, and PCI-e seems to be the future, but again it depends on your existing hardware and for most people either one will work just fine, even today. I recommend NVidia cards but ATI cards are great, too.

For RAM, go with anything from Crucial.com. I never buy any other brand.

What kind of router are you looking for: Ethernet or wireless?

I got an awesome older Ethernet router, a Netgear RP614. It is very fast, and does everything I need it to do (which is not much).

Listen to me

DONT GET A CHEAP ROUTER BECAUSE THEY ARE CR*P
Its true, Belkin are cheap but they contain sooo many problems its really not worth it, spend an extra $45 on a netgear router (works like a charm)

In answer to your question linksay is cheap but not very good (Belkin is cheapest but worst)
