Cuteness inspires affection and not all girls described as cute can be called sexy
In fact really sexy hot girls often wont be called cute however being cute certainly doesn't preclude sexiness. If fact most cute girls are also sexy. So you can be sexy but not cute, cute and sexy and cute but not sexy. The sexy/cute dichotomy probably starts where a girl becomes more sexy than cute. (See Christine Aguleria) At this point the cute factor is swallowed whole by her powerful sexiness and its less possible to see her as a 'little sister' figure.
The Twins on Big Brother 8 (Britain) have got massive cute appeal and while they are sexy their intense cuteness draw away from their sexiness (cuteness linked with innocence a bit)
You can be cute if you want I'm sure however just being hot is nothing to complain about!
All your suggestions range from cute to sexy (Angelina Jolie is sexy without cute while Jennifer Anniston is sexy/cute equal measures)
However allow me to add on personal note that NO-ONE does sexy quite like the Winehouse. Shes a top lady..

The difference in my opinion is cute is a more childish way of describing someone and sexy is a mature way. Like people say a child is cute but a woman is sexy (unless she's ugly or something)

well. cute is more like an adorable young lady. a cute little girl. If u r being called sexy than stay with that. For me. when i see a chick with a "sexy" walk. "sexy" lips , legs , eyes etc. I label her sexy. Cute can be for women. but i would perfer to be sexy or beautiful as a woman.

I think the difference (to a guy) is how much personal attatchment we feel for the girl.
