There is no house to divide.
I dont want anything from him, just my name back. he already took my self esteem, loyalty, and sense of sefl worth, so he doesnt need anything either.

Very cheap, can be done for under £100.00. as long as there is no contest and all is agreed prior to proceedings. Apply through the courts, and no solicitors

An uncontested divorce in the state of Colorado ran me in the neighborhood of $1200. That included an attorney to review the paperwork and provide guidance.
US law is very similar to the laws in the UK. Terminology and procedures are different. The fact that you've no children, no assets to divide, and amicable split I wouldn't believe with the assistance of an attorney (or what ever the lawyer term is across the pond) to review the paperwork that if would cost much more than $1200 US or 2400 pounds.
Good luck!

If you are in the UK an have already agreed finanicla stuff and no kids then just get yourself to the county court - get the form, fill it in. Cost is about £200 these days I think. Some payable when you hand the form in, some when you apply for the nisci (or however you spell it).
Good luck and well done on an amicable split!

When I went through my divorce 2 years ago I paid a lawyer $1000 and all I had to do after that was show up for court...it was simple, quick, and as stress free a divorce can be for a non contested divorce.

If you are doing it yourselves (both sides Pro Se) - should be just the filing fee collected by the Court. Go to the Family Law Section of your local Courthouse (you can call) and ask for a Pro Se package.
You have not given any facts -property - kids - pensions etc. so this is a simple reply.

Who's divorcing who? Whoever files for the divorce, normally, ends up paying. A divorce is never amicable!
