Here in KC, MO we save them to help get Children Dialisis. We collect the tabs, turn them into the Ronald McDonald House and they are abel to give sick children the medical help they need.

The whole can is aluminum, but the tab is, by necessity of design, a small piece of high quality aluminum. The tab is salvageable and has a value by weight that is separate from the deposit value (if your state is one of the states that mandates can returns).

There are sites on the web that show you how to make many things out of them. a belt being one of them. My daughter made a fabulous mermaid costume out of them.( the bottom of the mermaid of course ). She wore it in the Mermaid Parade in Coney Island this year.
