I have spoke with my ISP and HP and they have troubleshooted and I have done the spyware and virus stuff. Yet it is still slow. It use to be fast and now it is ridiculous.

You can go to
http://webaccelerator.google.com/
and then download the web accelerator. This should make you internet browser faster.

1. Get rid of IE. Use Firefox instead.
2. Uninstall any unneeded programs.
3. Disable any services that you don't need through "msconfig". You can try them and see which ones you do or do not need without any real risk of damage.
4. Stop certain programs from loading when Windows does. This will improve your boot time.
5. Upgrade your RAM, if at all possible.

Do you have Norton 2007? Are you running MS updates or only Windows updates?

MS Updates + Norton = very slow PC. Even Windows/Norton does not even acknowledge this. Go to the www.windowsupdate.com and click on the CHANGE SETTINGS. If you are set for MS updates, switch it back to only Windows updates.
Hope this helps, I have seen this bring systems to a crawl on a few occasions and nothing indicates that a problem exists.

I would disk defrag it and use a direct connection rather than routed
