Goldfish don't 'get fat' when they are having babies ... they lay eggs. What you are seeing as far as the 'swollen belly' may be from the fact that you are 'overfeeding' it (WAY TOO MUCH ... and I tend to do the same) ... but the 'two goldfish' that 'hang out and play' together while one 'bashes' the other fish is a SURE SIGN that you do have a 'mated pair.' Goldfish are 'monogamous' by the way ... and unless your 'other fish' is a Scat, you should get another tank and 'separate' them ... goldfish are not 'good fish' to have with others, since they are 'extremely territorial' and tend to 'tear up' any other fish, especially those that are 'smaller' ... I suppose you could try putting Oscars and goldfish into one tank, but then the Oscars (who are also territorial and far MORE aggressive than goldfish) would probably kill the goldfish.
BUT ... watch your 'pair' VERY CLOSELY. My pair started 'acting funny' and 'sat' on the bottom of their tank for several days. We thought it was because the 'water' was cloudy and needed cleaning, so we cleaned it and put them back in and ... I now have a 45 gallon tank that has NOTHING in it but 'teeny, tiny baby goldfish.' We took the PARENTS out and put them into 'fresh clean water' but didn't immediately clean the tank and the 'eggs' hatched (we didn't see them because the water was cloudy) ... and now I have to figure out a way to 'keep the big fish' separated from the 'little fish' and to keep all of the 'different kinds of fish' from attacking and killing each other. I have an addiction ... to aquariums! Gives new meaning to AA, doesn't it?

Anyway, watch your fish, and when they start 'laying on the bottom of the tank, start 'looking for the eggs' ... they should be 'attached' to something, and in a 'group' ... then MOVE THE EGGS into a five gallon tank. Goldfish eggs hatch in only two days ... and the babies don't need to be 'fed' if there is 'dropped food' they can eat off the 'floor' of the tank. If you put them into 'new water' though you'll have to 'feed them' but don't expect them to 'eat' the flakes at the top ... just let them fall and break up so the babies can eat from the bottom of the tank.

goldfish don't get pregnant
That sounds like either constipation or a swimbladder disease, or it could even be dropsy
Here is a site with symptoms and treatments

Hope that helps
Good luck
