Hi all ladies and men, how you felt when your doctor announced that you are pregnant/ your wife is pregnant. What did you do when you heard that news?

I became so ill so suddenly that the doctors were babbling things like cancer and whatnot.
So when the tests actually came back that I was pregnant... with TWINS!!...I was both shocked and relieved.

Relieved because I wasn't dying of anything horrific, but shocked because it was totally unexpected (I was using a diaphragm, after all, so it wasn't like I thought I might get pregnant any time soon!).

The reason for the misdiagnosis was because the illness almost literally hit overnight and I'd had a normal period only a few weeks before. Who'd have guessed that carrying twins would make you feel like you were dying!!

Well I had taken a test before I went to the doctor but I was scheduled to have surgery two days after that so I had to get in confirmed. But I was really shocked especially since I thought I wasn't going to be able to have any.

With my current pregnancy I was in shock and couldn't say anything! I was on the pill and went in for my yearly check up and to discuss having my tubes tied instead I found out I was pregnant!

it would depend if you wanted to be pregnant or not. I took a good month or two with most my children and planned them all. so I was very excited when I got pregnant.

So a lot would depend on whether or not your baby was planned, how old you are, who youre pregnant with (the adult not the baby lol) and if its the right time, and each individual this would differ :)

went to my general practioner, refused to believe him...then I went to the ob/gyn, refused to believe the nurse...then the doc did an ultra sound and showed me my little bean...then I cried. Then I walked out to my car and sat there stunned, happy but stunned. 14 years of battling with infertility and then being told that I would never have children. Then just getting knocked up....I was shocked to say the least.

Uhh... this is 2007. Most of us find out about our pregnancies by doing a home pregnancy test, not by going to the dr.
