What makes a girl classy?

So tell me.. what is the difference between classy and trashy? Is it the way someone or something looks? Is it the way someone behaves? Is it their attitude on life? Is it the amount of money they have? What do you think makes something or someone classy? Is it the amount of knowledge and expertise someone has? I'm just interested to know what everyone else thinks because I believe that a lot of it is tied in together.. I can't wait to read your replies!

EDIT: Since I was asked for my answer to the question, and I wanted to say thanks for so many great replies, (I honestly can't choose a best one, it would be unfair!) I've edited this section to add my reply. In addition to what most people have said, I also think that being classy means that when a woman or a man is thinking (particularly women) they have something calm and mysterious about them which makes you just want to sit and watch them... does anyone know what I mean?

She's never mean, rough, attention starved, or tries too hard. It's totally effortless and comfortable in all aspects of her being...
I like to think Eva Green as a good example.
Madonna is not classy.

Classy is when a woman or man dresses confidently, neatly, and feels comfortable and at home in what they're wearing, but still looks good and colorful, and proper for the occasion.
Also, Classy people have a good outlook on life, happy, and always have a smile on their face!

Trahy is when a person doesnt care what they are wearing, has a bad attitude. When a girl dresses immodestly, it becomes hard to look classy. When you are being interviewed for a job, the way you dress affects your chances or getting the job!

well the thing that makes a girl look classy is their confidence. u need to hav confidence, but not the type that is way too over the top and arrogant. it is also the way they dress, kinda formal but with a little fashion . and never wear something that reveals any part of your body that you don't want people to see because then people will call you mean names. U knoe?

and your attitude is a big effect too. if you act like you are all that, people will probably just ignore or talk about you. and i don't believe you have to be smart to be classy because everyone is smart and unique in their own ways..i hope my sadvice helps you! :)

any way listen... beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder... so what you dream as classy may be trashy for some one else and what you consider trashy may be the classiest for you...

so please do not classify on the advise or classifications of people like us who care a dime for your welfare or wishes...

Classy = not too self assured that she is arrogant, leaves a lot to the imagination, not facile and benign, have something deep to talk about, will like you for your personality rather than your looks, is well educated and not afraid of a challenge, independent and able to take care of herself, sensitive and shy but will be outspoken about her passions. I am a lucky guy ;)

I think it's they way you carry yourself, and your personality. I don't think it's how much money you have - although that does help buy nicer clothes. But you still can be classy without a lot of money. Make wise purchases. Be confident. Smile.

what makes a women classy is the way she carry her self,nobodies going to want to marry a women that looks like a slut,and the way she talks .a women can be very beautiful but if she has a dirty mouth you will change your whole option about her.

i believe that "classy" is a way of life and a state of mind. basically, the best way to put it is the way one carries themself. this is all encompassing. classy is having a certain respect for yourself and your body. a classy person doesn't dress like a stripper, because they have more respect for themselves. they don't need to dress provocatively to have someone look at them. under no circumstances does someone need to have a lot of money to be classy.

I think being knowledgeable and confident is classy. Not confident to the degree of being self-centered, but just enough self-esteem that they know how to carry themselves and get the respect they deserve.

its the way you carry and present yourself...it is also the type of morals and values you have...if a woman walked in halfway naked you would not think she is classy so it is also the way you dress because as bad as it sounds thats the first thing people see and thats all they have to go by before you open your mouth.
