Given what we know about star development, our Sun will most likely implode to a white dwarf than explode in a supernova.

The sun will not explode like you would see as if a bomb went off. Everyone else has really already answered the question, but in reference to goobster, the Sun is actually moving. It just appears to not be moving in reference to us because we are moving around it. In fact though, the sun is moving at a rate of about 2.17 x 10^5 meters/second as it revolves around the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way.

No.
In a few billion years, when it runs low on hydrogen fuel, it will grow to become a red giant star, but that isn't really "blowing up". Anyway, it is so far in the future that, for all practical purposes, it will last forever.

its not gonna to psysically "blow up" its going to "blow up" in the sense that its going to inflate into a red giant, and it will be so big, i would swallow the first 3 planets, and scorch the earth

yes it will it will turn intoa a red giant and it will be huge by then and then it will blow up when it becomes a cool white dwarf, but don't worry it will take billions of years it doesn't happen in a day!

No, it won't. It will increase it's size up to a red giant star and then once it ends with all it's fuel, will slowly stop shining.
