Typical spin.

Most of the jobs created were low-wage parttime positions with few or no benefits. The rate itself only reflects those who are actively seeking employment; it does factor in those who have given up job searching altogether.

I suppose you could make a case that jobs have been created. The problem with this right wing argument is most of the jobs are low paying service sector jobs. Most all the traditional good paying jobs in manufacturing have gone overseas. No matter how much you try to put a right wing spin on this you can't change these facts.

When unemployment runs out and the ex worker still can't find a job, he is not counted as unemployed anymore.
Service jobs don't make for much of a living.
Manufacturing jobs=wealth. Those are going abroad.
I am no liberal and these facts are clear enough for both sides to understand.

Who counts people whose unemployment compensation period is over?
Nobody.

That means the statistics is seriously distorted.

Real unemployment rate in USA is comparable to EUSSR: 8-9%.

----
As a M.Sc. in Economics (seriously studied Economical Statistics), I'd say US statistical data is more distorted than Soviet one.

During USSR time we had a joke:

There is a lie, a big lie, and statistics.
---
We called this kind of statistics:
pripiski [pree-PISS-key].

The majority of the jobs created under Bush have been government jobs.

Just goes to show that the govenrnment does have a role to play in job creation.

It's Bush's fault that the economy is NOT tanked from smothering incentive with over-taxation!
When the taxes are confiscatory AGAIN, we can kiss all those tax cuts GOOD-BYE and hello to unemployment and higher taxes to fill up those hammocks!

Where's the candidate who's saying:

"The only people the federal government should be writing checks to are people who work for the federal government."

Instead, we have standing ovations for people who ask the candidates "What are you going to do to pay for my health care?"
