i have lived the past 10 years in Japan and Mexico, and ive recently returned to the US and am just shocked, disgusted , dismayed and completly heart broken at the level and brutality of our fellow citizenry. Why are we(yes we) so messed up? Do you fear more from a terrorist or from your fellow American citizen? I fear the American citizen more than I do somebody from the Middle East by far. What your take?

I wish that more people would actually stop to see what's going on around them and put an end to it! It's getting far ridiculous!

Yes. You should always get away from situations that cause you great stress, if the benefits of staying are small and the risks of leaving are not greater than the stress. It sounds like that's where you are. Your fam isn't going to go anywhere, and the only way you can help them right now is to bring positiveness and love into their home when you're there. Like you obviously can with your sister, if you try. Living at your boyfriend's gave you perspective. If you live at home, your center is too insecure to allow you to avoid the spiraling misery in your family's home. It's not your fault. You're old enough to either know how to manage on your own, or to learn how, and you and your bf together can help each other, right? Go for it. When you return home as a true adult, you are your parents' peer and may have gained influence with them, and your visits may be more pleasant. I'm not sure I understand your reasons for staying, to be honest.

Absolutely. That is a great question by the way. I think a lot of it has to do with what society has made it to become. If we had less ignorant people in the world we would have much less crime and dispute among each other. Drugs, gangs, and violence are a strong influence among young kids who are uneducated and they look up to role models like snoop dog who snort cocaine and think it's cool to be just like them. We should be helping each other out, not stabbing one another. I am far more afraid of the people around me than those in the middle east. It's sad to say, but I have more of a chance of getting shot by a drive by shooting than being blown up by a terrorist.

i am absolutely sick and tired of all the violent crimes and man's inhumanity to man. i personally believe that the criminals outnumber the law enforcement. they try really hard to keep law and order but they are not able to keep up with the amount of new criminals that turn to crime every day. i have been a victim of a crime but the one who perpetrated the crime against me was caught and served jail time. that doesn't happen in every case, unfortunately. so, don't know what the answer is.

Nothing will change, because our government is to involved with other issues.

We, as Americans, will soon just have to take matters into our own hands, thats the day im waiting for.

Good question. Have a star

I'm defintley more scared of a terror attack; I stay out of bad places though things can happen anywhere but I've got a lot of rage so I'm not to worried about someone killing or kicking my *** anytime soon.
