Being on the other end of monitoring - I'm the one doing it - I understand the rational - bottom line - the integrity of the network depends on monitoring.
If I am your boss - my questions back to you would be: "Why do you have enough time to go to Yahoo and answers?" "Do I really need you?"

That depends on what department you are in. If you are doing research, product development, marketing, or even looking for customer service answers, then Yahoo! is easy to explain.
