Reformatting the hard drive (not just reinstalling Windows) will get rid of MOST viruses, but please be sure to try less drastic solutions first. :-)

most virus / trojans can be got rid of with a full system scan

is your virus killer detecting it? but it keeps regenerating?

boot in safe mode.. tap f8 on boot

scan then..

also u maybe need to disable system restore also

if u've not got a decent anti virus

not 100%. better use good antivirus \ antispyware. you'll have no need to reinstall your OS
