No body, including and especially Darwin, EVER said we "came from monkeys". To my knowledge, the only half-wits who have ever promoted that particular piece of misinformation are the clergy and the (old) media.

I could write a book here about what's wrong with your question, but I'll refrain from that. Let me just say: you really, really need to research things before you ask questions like this one. There are people in this forum who will be pretty vicious in their replies to you, because the question advertises your lack of understand about the subject. In my view, as a college prof, I prefer to chalk this up to honest ignorance on your part--which is not a crime. However, that being said, it is now incumbent on you to dig deeper for a better understanding.

I'll recommend the book: Race and Human Evolution by Wolpoff and Caspari, as a great place to go.

Best of luck to you.

Man didn't come from present day monkeys. Man and monkeys and apes came from the same primate ancestor--imagine different branches of a tree coming from the same trunk. They then went on their merry way, evolving differently as time passed. Since humans and monkeys don't compete with each other in the same niche, our existence and thiers can be simultaneous.

This is the *very* simple answer. If you want more detail, e-mail me and I'd be happy to oblige.

Edit: about forgot...

Evolution is a process in which different "branches" of the same family tree develop unique characteristics. Monkeys are related they are not our ancestors according to evolution.

Also since you apparently champion the God (poof) theory. If God created the earth and all it's inhabitants who created God?

What we evolutionists actually ask is: "if evolution is true, then why are there still creationists?"

We're still working on that one, but we're sure there's a rational explanation.

WE came from a 60s pop band? I always thought Davie was cute, but I've never wanted to hear him ask "who's your daddy".

Evolutionism does not say that. It says that we have a common ancestor, based on the fact that 99% of our DNA is identical. The common ancestor is long gone.

If Christians came from Jews, then WHY are there still Jews?

Your second cousins look more like your great-grandparents than you do, so why do you have second cousins?
