I don't know what you are driving now (as a comparison) but there are a number of good quality cars out on the market now & some (if not most) manufacturers offer an impressive 10-year/100K warranty. Shop around for the styles you like, be it a 2-door coupe//4-door sedan//hybrid electric or whatever your particular needs may be. Go for a test drive and see what feels right.

If it has to be an American car and price is no object, try a Cadillac CTS. If you don't want to fork out so many Bill$ to pay for that much car, then try a Pontiac G6 or Buick Lucerne. Ford and Chrysler also have some good choices, you just have to shop around and compare them to what your particular needs are in a car today (and 10 years from now).

We just bought a small 2000 Ford Ranger from my neighbors. It's a little too light weight so it doesn't handle real well in bad weather (slides on road a lot). But it is GREAT on gas. My Dad drives it to work everyday and he hasn't had to give it a 1/4 tank of gas in 4 days. Ford is always a good model to go with. It's 7 years old and still in top condition.

I just got a VW Eos! It was around 33,000, 30 mpg, and is a convertible. It is 2 door, but with tons of room in the back! It has a great stereo too! Drives very well too.

NOT American is what I suggest. Get a Toyota Corolla if you are on a tight budget or a Toyota Camry or Solara if you can spend more. Excellent cars and contrary to popular belief, most are made in the U.S.

I'm a US Citizen........never again will I buy an American car!! See, being an American, I don't like being ripped off. Every US made car we ever bought has ONLY BEEN TROUBLE. I have a Hyandai (S. Korean) now and I LOVE IT.

Buy, Toyota, made in America!!! Ford, made in Mexico, GM made in Australia!!! Toyota will definitely last you beyond 10 years, can't say same for "American posers".
