First of all, it seems that there are more Dell haters in this forum than people who are trying to help the guy out. It depends on what system you ordered and the colour that you chose. for example if you chose a Dell XPS M1330, then it might take a while cause they cannot keep up with the demand, and if you ordered the inspiron 1520, most of the colours are getting dealyed because Dell suppliers are not meeting the quality standard of Dell, thus Dell is taking the time to make them perfect it. If you cannot wait anymore you can cancel, otherwise speak to a customer service agent that can help you with delievery and tracking details. They should give you a detailed report of why your system is delayed.

Depending on how urgently you need it you can cancel - I am sure they have given you that option. Have they given you a reason for the delay?
If you have ordered one of their special offers then that may be why. I ordered a laptop from them about 3 years ago - it was a special web deal that they were doing at the time which obviously proved very popular. They contacted me about a week before the delivery date to say that there would be a delay, but as a result they upgraded the model. I didn't need it urgently so chose to wait, and have never had a problem with the machine.
At the end of the day, you can chase them constantly if it makes you feel better - but if they've got a shortage of a component there is probably nothing they can do to speed it up.

Remember who you are, the buyer. Without customers (satisfied ones) there will soon be no Dell at all. If you can, cancel your order and check out the back to school specials offered by Staples, Office Depot, etc. You can find a great deal this time of year, get it over the counter, talk to a real person who speaks english as a first language, and if you have a problem, you can go right back to that same person that will remember you - develop a repore with your computer sales person. You won't believe how much difference it makes when you have a face to face relationship. And go HP, if your budget allows. There are some things that the WWW can't change, and one of them is personal contact with who you're doing business with. Take advantage of it, since this is probably a comparatively large purchase for you, second only to a car or a new home. Take Care.

Until the carrier gets the item into it's system, the only thing it will have is the tracking number. Wait until tomorrow. I've had great luck with Dell laptops. They work, they are fast, and easy to modify (new hard disk, add memory, etc).

I've had nothing but trouble when dealing with Dell!!I bought my computer 8 months ago and can get NO in home technical support !! When I ordered my computer and was waiting for delivery it didn't come so I called and the guy who took my order got everything wrong!! My name,my address everything so I had to reorder and wait somemore!! I was p*ssed !! When it finely came it kept crashing so I called them and they finally put me through to a tech in India and I gave him control of my computer he said that he fixed it {NOT} I can't tell you how many times I have had to call them. Most of the people they hire for support can barely speak english so try and fix anything when you can't understand a word they are saying! One guy actually had me unplug the computer and take off the side and look for the memory card !! WHAT?? I don't know anything about the workings of it and it took forever to find what he was talking about I felt really stupid and again I couldn't understand what he was saying!! I finally had to ask a computer tech from work to come and look at it I think he fixed the problem but now I have another problem that has nothing to do with the original problem!! OMG!! I called them again telling them how unhappy I am with their service {THE LACK OF} They tried to sell me an extended warranty at a cost to me WHAT AGAIN!! They will not take responiblity for their product! I will never purchase anything from them again!! My advice to you is get your money back and go somewhere ,anywhere else!!Sorry my answer is so long but I had a lot to say about DELL from H*ll !!

If you are unhappy, cancel your order.
You have this right under the distance selling regulations.
