I don't know the relationship between you and your mother, but you shouldn't fly off the handle at her. Explain to her, that it was not a dish gone bad and that you're a grown man now. You don't need her looking over your shoulder, but that you do appreciate her looking out for you. Then take her out to dinner somewhere nice.

The way it works in most food prep places is this Cooked veggies sealed in fridge - use within 4 days Cooked Meats sealed in fridge - use within 3 days Anything older than that can still smell ok, but not be that great to eat. I never use anything older than 3 days in my fridge.

In my opinion the fact that you have to ask was it wrong or not shows some sign of you being guitly honestly I believe that is was wrong of you. You shouldn't disrespect your mom. If it wasn't for her you wouldn't be here...I for one can relate to the anger it that can come with parents but at the same time you have to be careful what you do and say because at the end of the day they are your parents and when their gone you can't take back what you said or what you did....

you were upset and you probably worked really hard on it, she should've asked you before she threw it out, it isn't nice to swear at you parents but i think almost everyone that lives in the real world does, why does your mum come over and go through you fridge?

Well, if your mom believes you can't take care of yourself it might be because there are signs (maybe not in the fridge) that tell her she's still in charge. Getting mad with her is not the best way of saying that she should mind her own business, BECAUSE you are already in charge of yours, but it might be necessary if, and only if, she's really wrong.

I would say it depends. If it was in your home she has no right whatsoever to interfere. However if you are living at home she has a degree of say in the matter. But don't swear it's never necessary.

You were right to swear at her. I hope you made her take it out of the bin, place it on the kitchen floor and go down on all fours and eat it.

well, unless swearing is part of your everyday language, like mine ..."ma, ye feckin eejit, I was gonna have that tomorrow, for Christs sake"....well then no, it's not too bad..
But if you normally speak proper to your mother, well than very naughty child
