My son will be going off to start college in about a week from today at Carthage College in Wisconsin. I will be having a talk with him before he leaves and i would love to get some ideas for our conversation. I would love to just give him some good gguidance, that may help him focus possitively

He only needs 3 things-
1. Remind him that contraception is the boy's responsibility.
2. Remind him a part of you will always be with him.
3. Pack him a first aid kit and small medicine box, with the sort of things you would tell him to take if he phoned you. This is the one thing I wished I had done for my daughter when she phoned up to say she was poorly. I had all the remedies in my cupboard and she had none with her.

To remember you love him and trust he has the values you taught him. That he can call anytime if he needs to just talk that your always there for him. To study hard and most importantly to have fun.

i wouldn't over do it.

i think the best thing you can do is to advice him his main goal is to graduate from college... and that you trust him to do so because you think he has good, common sense.... and you're proud of him.

that's all i can think of... pounding on him about drinking and drugging wont' stop anything, if that's your concern.
