The family of the woman who refused to take a polygraph when her child "disappeared" from her home is suing for "aggressive questioning" about the matter.
The family said the questions drove Trenton's Mom to suicide rather than admitting her probable guilt may have been the reason.
Everyone from the police to prosecutors have no other suspects than the Mom who committed suicide.

Jess, if you honestly think the cops came up with a simple theory and didn't investigate it, you didn't follow the coverage. You have never investigated crimes, I am guessing.
I was a cop for 21 years, if you think on ANY child missing/murder case the cops just put in a few hours and call it good, you are seriously wrong.

Boy, some of these answers just astound me. Seriously. A little child is gone. His mother is a suspect (for relevant reasons - not because the cops thought she'd be a good one to blame for Christ's sake). And now all the attention is being placed on Nancy Grace because she saw "holes' in her story like the cops did ~ and she tried to fill them. Now the family is suing to take all eyes of the "whys" of their daughter committing suicide. Nancy Grace didn't kill this woman ... Melinda's own guilty conscience is to blame. If it wasn't ~ she'd still be here determined to find the scum bags who took her child. Any normal and decent mother would ...

Ms. Duckett wasn't "forced" to be a guest on the show .. she agreed knowing there would be questions/concerns. Man are some people in serious denial ... innocent until proven guilty? Yea ... just like O.J. and Scott Peterson. Let's keep protecting the guilty instead ... that is, of course, until it's YOUR child or loved one that's missing ... then I'm betting the cops and "Nancy Graces" of the world ... will be your new best friends.

Wake up and join the real world will ya??!!

I don't think Nancy Grace is to blame. I have read the transcripts of the interview and Melinda Duckett never gave a straight answer. Nancy had asked her several times if she had taken a lie detector test and Melinda would not answer the question. Melinda stated that she was only working with the FBI. Also when Nancy asked where she and her son had been that day Melinda stumbled on her answer. Nancy asked her what stores she had been into and Melinda refused to answer that. I have a daughter and if I was in Melinda's place I would work with all law enforcement weather it be local, state, or FBI, hell I'd even work with mall security guards. At a time like that there is no reason to be picky. I would talk to any and everyone who would listen to me about where I had been, even national media in case someone had seen me and noticed something suspicious. Another thing is that one of the men who had been over that night has disappeared and Melinda never seemed to be concerned about it. Something just doesn't add up. I think Nancy did her job. Maybe that mother was killed by guilt. But lets all try not to waist to much time and energy debating this there is still a little boy missing out there.

First let me say I am not a big fan of Ms. Graces. But from what has come out Ms. Duckett was being extremely evasive and not giving straight answers. She [ Ms Duckett ] knew what she was getting into when she AGREED to be on the show. Someone needed to ask her some tough questions ! To the earlier poster the police have questioned a lot of people . They have looked very hard at everyone and anyone who had contact with Ms. Duckett and her ex-husband . They have interviewed both families on numerous occasions. I live in central Florida and the local press [ TV & Newspapers} have kept us up to date on who's been questioned . The fathers family has made many appeales for any info and has made many visits to the police station.

I hadnt heard that, but I think it is horrible! I just love Nancy...she's a little spitfire. I would never want her as the attorney for anyone that I would ever be in a lawsuit with, that's for sure. Her questions were a little harsh, but she was trying to find the little boy and 2 and 2 just werent making 4!
People will sue for anything these days. That lady was already suicidal. I dont think Nancy took this lady from normal to suicidal in a matter of an hour. And even if the suit makes it to court, I think she will be found not guilty b/c if you have ever watched her show, you know she is one tough cookie! She treats all guests on her show the same from what I have seen. That mother knew what she was getting herself into.

Somebody call the A.C.L.U now! My God, we can't have people asking people questions! What would be next? Someone could ask me what my name is? Oh, the shame and indignity I would suffer! How could I live with that?

And what if I'm walking down the street and some stranger asks me what time it is? We must be protected from this! We must have new laws!

We demand that the government steps in. We need to be safe from such things!

Back to your comments. Serious now. I have no doubt the case was treated as a red ball. So the comments above are just plain stupid. Do any of these people know what circumstantial evidence is? Do they know that it is far more reliable than any eye witness? Are they that uninformed? Geeez!

Nancy "The Blond Rosie" Grace needs her yap snapped shut. It's a shame it's gonna take a lawsuit for the networks to get the message. I say good bye and good riddance. I'd call her names but even the worst ones I can think of give her more credit than she is deserves. It's also a sad commentary on our society that enough people watch her to keep her on TV....

nancy was doing what she is paid to do: ask questions. She was a lawyer for Pete's sake, she's gonna ask a lot of questions. I don't always agree with her 100% of the time but geez oh pete, people sued her? I think I'll go sue McDonalds because they helped to make my *** as large as it is.

I really like Nancy Grace, I have watched her alot and I don't think they should be able to sue. The suicide , to me, is admitted guilt.♥j

Wow ! I didn't see the coverage, but I usually like Nancy Grace !
I don't think she should be sued, I'm sure she was only doing her job !
"Aggresive questioning" doesn't lead to suicide, but maybe
a guilty conscience ?
