A friend remebers seeing a movie starring Jean Reno, does anyone know the title of this movie?

A man's wife is killed. This man warns Reno of an attack and Reno thanks him. The man wants Reno to train him to fight with a knife. One of the scenes they train in a dark room with straw that is on fire. Takes place in Paris. Any help is appreciated.
