In view of modern science, it seems to be nothing but a myth. Look here http://dnatribes.com/sample-results/dnatribes-global-survey-regional-affinities.pdf and you will be able to determine that, to a large extent, the physical similarities that we see that were previously ascribed to "race" offer, in fact, little or no indication of genetic similarity. In other words, groups very similar physically can be very far apart genetically, and vise a versa.

Perception creates a type of reality; i.e. the way we see each other and ourselves greatly influences what happens to us and how we react to those experiences. Segregation was certainly real, even if it was based on fantasy.

Race as myth comes out of genetics and other sciences that look closely at us physically. The differences between the 'races' are tiny and there aren't clear dividing lines. Rather than distinct races, it's more like a spectrum -- and one that exists in two or three dimensions as well.

It could very well be that a particualr race did once exist, there may even be proof that they did. HOWEVER, it may well be that, beyond proof of their existance, that the ONLY other information about them is myth and legend. IN that way a race could be both real and mythological.

Man-kind has existed for a very long time and man-kind in-ability to explain it has lifted man-kind into mythological proportion.... Everyone has a idea as to how man-kind man came into existence... It just that man-kind refuses to except the simplicity of how man-kind came into being... And that the first man was black and everyone on this earth have black ancestors.... What is the reason for man-kind total confusion is pride, and jealousy and man-kinds in-humanity to man and the inability to accept some simple truths about themselves.....................................................................................
