It's good, but no where close to a Duke or UNC.

Plus, I'm not sure how it's recovered since Katrina.

Yes, Tulane is a private school, although it's not as highly regarded as the Ivy League schools. It is harder to get income than most state universities. It's also considerably more expensive. However, Tulane is generous with financial aid and will meet 94% of a student's demonstrated financial need.

It is a very good, but not great, business school. i would rank it somewhere between 30 and 50.

UNC is a much better program. I would rank it between 15 and 20.

Duke is a great business school. For an MBA, I rank it in the top ten.

To put Tulane's place in perspective -- this is how I would rank Southern B-Schools:

1. Duke
2. UNC-Chapel Hill
3. University of Virginia
4. University of Texas
5. Rice
6. Vanderbilt
7. Emory
8. Tulane
