My theory on why Japan is so advanced technologically is because after the atomic bomb was dropped on hiroshima japanese people were alerted that other countries had technology to develop weapons that destroy entire cities and decided push their education harder to move ahead technologically as a kneejerk response for survival.

Lang I did not ruin your country, the US government did it. I never thought the atomic bomb was the right thing to do either. I beleived our country had many other options that would harm less civilians.

i think of everybody could agree that an atomic bomb should not be used back as all of us be attentive to the devastation that it could reason. besides the incontrovertible fact that, the eastern introduced that if any distant places soldier set one foot on eastern soil they could kill all of the prisoners of conflict that they had. The bombs have been dropped and the conflict ended, and the prisoners of conflict have been allowed living house. the eastern did no longer believe in the Geneva conference, of their own way of lifestyles it grew to become right into a shame to be captured and introduced prisoner. as a result that they had no longer something yet contempt for the allied prisoners and that they have got been taken care of badly and each now and then labored to dying. So i think i'm announcing that I agree that the bombs have been dropped on Japan.

No, the atomic bomb was not the main factor in Japan's education or technological development. In all of East Asia, education has been a priority, long before the atomic bomb. These societies value education more than it is valued in America.

With both education and technological development, Japan has been eager to learn knew things from other nations throughout history. When Japan first encountered China and began trading, the Japanese (who were, at the time, less advanced/developed) were eager to learn and study the general knowledge and technological knowledge of the Chinese (including the written language). Once they knew how to make the initial Chinese creations, they worked on improving/adapting them to fit their own needs.

Japan has been doing this for thousands of years! The atomic bomb was not the beginning at all.

I do believe that the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII were justified as a necessary evil.
From what I know about Japanese culture, they have always valued knowledge. Most asian cultures prioritize education. It was not the bombing that MADE them want to study--but it may have CONTRIBUTED to their strive for advancement in education, technology, etc.

The atomic bomb decimated Japan and as some historians believe, ended the war sooner. The Japanese had, in fact, contacted the russians to pass a message to the USA that they wanted to negotite a peace settlement. That message was never passed on till after the war. Supposedly a beurocratic mix-up. What the atomic bomb did was kill a lot of people, and put a final lid on the japanese bid for world domination through military force, so they turned their thought to economic domination, and have come pretty close to that goal. If in doubt, look at how many Japanese cars are driven in the world, and how many factories all over the world are owned by Japanese concerns. So, to answer your question, Yes, the atomic bomb started a new era in Japanese technologies.

Japan is a much more homogeneous society than the US is, so it is probably easier for them to agree on an educational strategy than it is for us in the US. Also, the Japanese have a history of being very hard workers, whereas not all Americans are. I would say those factors have created their educational & technological excellence more than the bomb did.

Commodore Perry's visit in 1853 really shook them up and got them to develop modern technology. Remember, the Japanese had technology to destroy entire cities, and used it in China, before they even attacked Pearl Harbor, much less before Hiroshima. After the war they used their techological prowess to develop their economy, not just their military. That's what is different. If your theory were correct, they would have developed their own bomb, but they haven't.

Japanese were hardworking ppl and keen on technology since long time ago.
Before Japan opened the country toward the world, Japanese had already created unique wooden dolls about 200 years ago. They are the origin of today's robot.

The Japanese people are a strong people, and their defeat in 1945 was devastating to their pride, and a lot of the Japanese growth I believe is somewhat influenced by this spirit of "Supremacy".

no
japanese believes hardworking is virtue.
even before atomic bomb.
the part that japanese are different from americans is that japanese seems to believe that working hard is everyone's responsibilities. but americans seems to believe in doing things the opposite way.
i believe that the american systems make things to be this way because even if they dont work they still survive. they proudly accept support from goverment without being ashamed, but japanese can not do that. unless there is really no other way to go through.

Japan was devastated by the war. They had to rebuild everything. Japan was encouraged by the US to develop a representative government and a free market economy. Give credit to the people for working hard and doing a good job.
