And was it through breastfeeding, diet, exercise? Although I lost all but 2 lbs, my body looks VERY different than before... how about you ladies?

It took me 3 months to get there. Now, at 6 months, I am 20 lbs lighter than my pre pregnancy weight and I still can't button my slacks or jeans that I wore before I was pregnant.

Very frustrating. You're not alone.

Take heart... babies change our bodies!! Everything is praportioned very differant after having a baby. In fact medically speaking, your body will never truly go back to its pre baby form completly with out having plastic surgery. Example being the stomach. When pregnant the muscles that are typically in your stomach are disconnected to stretch to fit the baby, and those muscles will never be connected and tight again unless you have plastic surgery. Not to say that you can't have a strong or even flatter stomach again, but the muscles won't be the same. Also I think every womans body is differant. Where some lose all pregnancy weight with in a few weeks just from breastfeeding there is then my type where lots of excercise is called for and even then the body is never quite the same. I just had to learn and am learning just how to accept myself as I am now and try not to look and wish at my prebaby days.

I just had my six week checkup and I am about five pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I am breastfeeding but I think I lost the weight (I gained 26 pounds altogether with my pregnancy) because I am too busy to eat :- ) I grab whatever I can, whenever I can. But although I am only five pounds away from before I still can't fit into my old clothes yet. Because of breastfeeding all of my shirts are too small and I can't get any of my old pants zipped closed. I am still in maternity "stretchy" clothes!!!

I think all body's are different. I gained about 45lbs with my pregnancy (baby born June 1st) and within 2 weeks lost 20 without trying. I had a c-section and soley breastfeed, I think that burns alot of calories, just healing and feeding. But since the 2 week mark I have lost 5lbs. I eat whatever I want, which is alot really. Breastfeeding helps alot but it also has you body store extra fat, just for reserves.
My belly is softer, but everything else is the same.
I think all bodies are just so different and maybe yoga or something strengthen can help you since you lost off of the pounds.

I was 32 when I had my first son and breat fed too. Wonderful choice, for several reasons. It took about 4 months and included exercise but not diet. At that point I was even thinner than my pre-pregnancy weight.
My second son was born when I was almost 36 and although it took longer, exercise and breat-feeding got me back down in about 6 months.
It won't happen instantly, but it will happen.
I know some women get right back into their old jeans, but most do not. Don't beat yourself up; enjoy your new baby and be happy. The rest will follow.

IT took me about 4 months to be back at pre-pregnancy weight. Only women on tv snap back right away, possible because they have a tummy tuck after childbirth. It was quite disheartening to be wearing pregnancy jeans 2 months after my baby was born. As soon as I could., I started dieting and exercising. (6 weeks after my baby was born) I was 160 in my 9th month and I'm not 110. I dint know anyone who look exactly the same before becoming pregnant.

one more thing. My stomach was never the same. I call it flabby and sick, even at 110 pounds. i

It's been 3 months and I'm only 5 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I fit in my pre-preg clothes, but my body still looks a bit different.

I purely attempt to consume as healthful as a threat and that i cut back out all the undesirable snacks that I allowed myself for the duration of being pregnant. i became into one hundred sixty five on the top of my being pregnant, i'm now one hundred forty! Edit: nonetheless have yet another stone to lose to get to my appropriate weight lol,

Well, my little girl is 2 years old now. After I had her I got put on Depo shot and that made me gain alot of weight. I am normally 115 and on the shot I weighed 136. I got off of the shot in Feb. this year and lost alot of weight. I weigh now 115. So the answer to your question is 2 years.
