I am 39 weeks and being induced next week. I am 2 cm's dilated but still kindof thick the Doc said. Is there any ways I can help ripen my cervix? I have been taking Evening Primrose Oil but obviously it hasn't done too much. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

You can apply the Evening Primrose oil directly to the cervix instead of just taking orally. Break open a capsule and soak a q-tip with the oil and apply gently to the cervix.
Red raspberry leaf is to help dilating - NOT for softening/ripening.
And it is true that semen contains prostaglandins which DO ripen the cervix.
Homeopathic remedies to initiate labor or to help ripen the cervix include caulophyllum (200X every 30 minutes for 2 hours) and caulophyllum 30C (6 doses during the day after 40 weeks gestation).

Are you taking it orally? Because it is more effective if you apply it right on your cervix. That is the only thing that I know of to help you ripen.

purely consume properly and exercising many times. watch on your infant to come back certainly, if there is not any actual reason to bring about. consistent with danger the Dr. desires to circulate on holiday. purely because of the fact the Dr. says "that is 39 weeks it somewhat is it" does not mean your physique would desire to be forced before it somewhat is time.

I think the only thing that will truly work is time.
BUT I drank raspberry tea like it was going out of style, I don't know if it worked or not but I had my baby. :) Good luck!

You can try walking and sex but my best advice is to sit back and relax. That baby won't come out until it wants to. (or is lured out by the doctor!)

having sex induces labor. the substance found in sperm is also found in the labor inducer and within 24 hours, you will be in the hospital.
