It's fine as lone as she is waking up to feed enough. Breast enlargement is temporary in an infant but is a common concern among new parents. This growth is short lived and should subside by the second week as the hormones are cleared from the newborn's system. The breasts should not be squeezed or massaged as this could result in an infection under the skin (abscess).
In addition to the enlargement, there may be some discharge from the nipples. This too is common and should be of no concern, disappearing within two weeks. The discharge is called witch's milk.

I have a 2 month old. When he was 2 weeks old, I actually asked the doctor if he sleeps too much! She said no and to enjoy it. I swear he slept 24 hours! Not really, but he was hardly awake. Don't worry she is fine, just growing. But if you are on any meds, you should take a look at that. Pain killers will cause a sleepy baby.
And a lump under the nipple is normal I am pretty sure.

I don't know about the lump under the nipple but babies can sleep an awful lot. As long as she is eating and awake and reactive to stimulants she is ok. I know sometimes after girls are born they can have little tiny periods due to all the hormones. So maybe the hormoes have caused a little something under her nipple. I would call the pediatrician about that. Don't worry about the sleeping, one day you realize "what happened to the baby that slept all day, now she's awake all the time" good Luck

Ok, yes it is very normal for a newborn to sleep the majority of the time because they are so little that when they are eating and looking around and every thing that it tires them out very easily. Now about the lump im not really sure I have girls but they dont like me to touc them theya re in that privacy stage and i thinkits perfectly normal I think its just the milk dud under there but if u really are curious then consult a doctor or something....

Yep, newborns sleep like 20 hours a day! I know you are excited and probably really want her to be awake, but take it while you can! Pretty soon you'll be wishing she were sleeping like that again! Also, yes her nipples are okay, it's the hormones she still has in her from you. Congrats!

Very normal. Just wait....in a couple of weeks you will be amazed at how they will all of a sudden be awake more and wide eyed checking everything out. Enjoy this time to be able to get some things done, even if it's just to read a book.
Yes.

She should be sleeping that much. It is good for her to build strength. Just wait until this time next year, you will be wishing you took advantage of this time. I would go to the Dr. to check the lump if you are worried, but it doesn't sound unusual. Congrats!

first of all, what's he ingesting? Is he breast fed or formulation? At this age, he ought to be having extra poops than that (4 -8x/day) and that they'd desire to be mild colored (yellowish) and not very stinky. It sounds as though he ought to be dehydrated. the only thank you to renowned is to take him to the Pediatric workplace precise away. babies can die from dehydration somewhat rapidly. something would not sound precise. i'd take him to a record ASAP.
