I do. My Granny was bedridden from a stroke that she had, and one day my Grandad had to go to a funeral for his daughter-in-laws Mother. Later on that day, My Grandad passed away. The doctors said it was from a broken heart. My Granny passed away 4 days later.
Sorry.. but now I have a tear in my eye from even writing this.
So, I do think it does happen.

Yes now a days I think you could probably die from a broken leg.... All jokes a side I think if your heart is really terribly broken and mentally ones just not him or her self then I don't think that you would die, but probably end up very emotionally disturbed....
and very much stressed out....

Yes. Grief causes physical reactions that, if a person is in fragile health, could cause death.
A man who lived down the street died of a heart attack. His wife died two hours later as she stood over his hospital bed.
But in healthy people, grief can cause poor health habits that lead to illness that can lead to death...malnutrition, pneumonia, depression, etc.
But if you're asking if a heart will just stop beating because of grief...sadly, no. The pain only feels like the heart is breaking but the heart keeps beating anyway...
I know...my little boy died and he took half my heart with him. I still live on with only half my heart. It's incredible how a heart can hurt so much and still keep beating.
Sometimes, I wish it wouldn't. Living with a broken heart isn't really living. It's surviving.
Thank goodness for hope. Hope is like a band aid for a broken heart. Hope for good things to come. (I hope I will be with little boy again soon.)

Ive ran a call before where someone called 911 because of a broken heart. It was a waste of time and resources.

I don't know about a broken heart, but I have heard about people that have been married for years and years that have died with days or even hours of each other.

I think it's possible to mourn yourself to death over the passing of a loved one. But a broken heart can be mended so I'm not too sure about dying of a broken heart alone.

Good question.. :) I think yes you can because sadness leads to depression, depression leads to suicidal thoughts, suicidle thoughts lead to death, so yes I think you cam die from a broken heart, specially if you really loved that person and never fully got over them . :}

Only if he/she commits suicide or goes crazy and jumps off a cliff or something. He/she could kill himself/herself from the broken heart but the actual broken heart couldnt kill anyone

I totally think it is. It feels like that when your heart is broken. Hearts are mendable though. It just depends on the person and the effect they let it have on their lives.

Suffering from a "broken heart" may actually be a real medical phenomenon that mimics a heart attack but may be much less dangerous, according to a new study.
