What should someone have, in order to get married in a court in new jersey? Usually how long can the process take?

Divorce laws are harsh to the man in New Jersey.

If you're married 5 years, its 10 years of alimony.

If you're married 10 years, its alimony for LIFE.

Get married in Pennsylvania, its one year of alimony for every 10 years of marriage, much more fair.

There are a lot of things people should know before they get married. Make sure your legal papers are in order (pre-nups, etc.) I don't mean to be a black cloud, but a lot of marriages don't last. If there are children involved, it's worse.
