Yes. If he fails the Packers should start Aaron Rogers.

The real question is what is the definition of failure. The Packers are not set up for a run at a Super Bowl by any stretch of the imagination. I see some of you consider last season a failure but they were supposed to go 4-12. Brett led them to 8-8 winning the last 4 games. 10 wins and a playoff birth is on the higher end of this seasons expectations.

So if he fails, Yes bench him. But when you decide what is failure, keep in mind the situation around him.

YES YES YES....

Arguably, last year was a failure for Favre. Rodgers should be starting anyway. Poor Brett has ruined his legacy by holding on to the Iron Man statistic and playing through a decline.

It's high time he retires and lets someone else have a chance to put the Packers into the playoffs.

No way. Seriously what do you think packers fans want to see the legendary Brett Favre play and fail at quarterback or see Rodgers play and fail at quarterback. Also i don't think Mike McCarthy wants to be known as the coach who benched Brett Farve.

Of course... who else would they put in there? Ingle Martin? I dont think so. Should this happen, Rodgers would go in, but he will not do well, and they will end up drafting a qb or picking up someone in free agency next season as they realize Rodgers is not the heir to the brett favre throne.

if at the 8 game mark the pack is not at least 4-4 then yes they should start rodgers for the rest of the year. what will they have to lose except for hurting farve's pride? rodgers is not a rookie anymore and from what i'm hearing he has the talent and brains to be a legit starter. they should let him develop if they are out of the playoff picture and then try to comeback strong in '08

NO.
If it gets to the point where the season is lost, play Aaron more but don't start him. Maybe in the last game give Brett the start and then pull him very early.
I don't expect it to get to that point however, get the man some protection and things should be fine (not great, but fine)
